Hatch Chile Update Jun 30th 2012

Hello All,

This is a friendly reminder that chile season will soon be upon us. Our farm was blessed to miss most of the hail which hit the valley this spring so we are one of the few farms with plenty of chile this year. We expect to start shipping the second week of August, so if you have already placed a pre-order and this week doesn’t work for you please let us know.

If you haven’t placed a pre-order yet, we encourage you to do so soon as our 15% pre-order discount expires at the end of July. Pre-orders are guaranteed priority over customers who order later in the case of inclement weather or other delays plus you save quite a bit.

We would also like to thank you, our wonderful customers, for letting us provide you with the worlds BEST chile year after year! We hope you have a great summer and that you enjoy your chile fix this August.

  1. is 5 lbs frozen equal to a bushel

  2. Ilene,

5lbs of frozen is equivalent to around 12lbs of fresh if you are ordering chopped frozen. If you are ordering whole, its equivalent to around 10lbs or fresh. A traditional bushel basket holds around 28lbs of fresh chile. I hope that helps.

  3. When do we start getting our fresh green chile??? I’ve been preparing to make them delicious green chile rellanos! Let me know soon! Thank you! 🙂

    1. Debrah,

We’ll start shipping next week. If you ordered a 10 or 25 lb box, you’ll receive a tracking number via email the day your order is shipped. If you ordered a 5lb box, you won’t receive a tracking number but your box will still ship Monday or Tuesday.
