Fresh Hatch Green Chile
- This is a highly perishable product. You must opt for Overnight and Shipsurance for our quality guarantee to apply.
- If you have a quality issue with your shipment, take photos and notify us within 24 hours of delivery.
- Fresh Hatch ships in a vented produce case to allow airflow while in transit.
- Fresh Hatch is shipped Wednesdays during the season.
- If weather impacts our shipping schedule, we'll notify you via email.
- Call or email us if you need your order to ship a specific week.
- All Fresh Hatch orders ship via UPS. 2-Day service is offered once Valley temperatures decline, but is not recommended at peak heat.
Frozen Items (roasted chile, tamales, rellenos)
- These are perishable products. Opt for Shipsurance at checkout for guaranteed quality on delivery.
- Take photos and file a claim within 24 hours of delivery if there's an issue.
- Overnight shipping is recommended during warmer months.
- Frozen orders ship Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Call or email if you need a specific arrival date and we'll do our best.
- Frozen items ship in 100% recyclable insulated containers on dry ice.
- Frozen items ship via UPS from distribution centers in NJ and CA so we can offer ground shipping. New Mexico isn't close enough to most US addresses for ground delivery on perishables.
Non-Perishables (sauces, seasonings, posole, dried chile)
- Non-perishable products ship Mon–Fri.
- Allow 1–2 business days for processing.
- Call or email if your order needs to arrive by a specific date.
- Expedited shipping is available; ground typically arrives 1–4 days from ship date.
- All non-perishables ship from our New Mexico warehouse.
Ristras & Wreaths
- Handmade to order; ship Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Shipped in 100% recyclable packaging via UPS.
- We cannot ship to PO Boxes.

Fine print
Economy shipping
We offer $9.99 economy shipping on frozen products to the lower 48 states. Orders placed after certain cutoff days won't ship until the following week — if we shipped late in the week, your order would sit somewhere over the weekend and spoil. No-one wants that.
Shipping speed
Shipping speed is counted from the day the item ships, not the day the order was placed.
Address requirements
To guarantee delivery we need a complete and correct address. We are not able to deliver to PO Boxes, APO, or FPO addresses due to the highly perishable nature of many of our products. Once a shipping label is printed, we cannot change the address. This includes labels printed outside business hours (9am–5pm MT).
Ground shipping
We offer ground shipping on many products. Ground orders typically arrive 1–5 days from when they leave one of our facilities.
Gifts
The Hatch Chile Store cannot be responsible for damage or loss of gifts due to unavailable recipients, incorrect addresses, or theft. We cannot change addresses or cancel an order once a label has been printed. Please make sure your recipient will be in town the week we're shipping.
Special requests
You can request a delivery week by calling in your order. We do our best to honor special requests at checkout but can't guarantee them. If you have a special request, please call us — we'll do our best to make it work.
Tracking
When the shipping label is created you'll receive an email with your tracking number and the scheduled ship date. You'll also get an email when the package is delivered. Note that USPS may deliver to your mailbox in addition to your physical address.
Standard shipping procedures
Our carriers (USPS / UPS) are authorized to leave all packages at the destination without signature. This avoids spoilage from multiple delivery attempts. We're not responsible for boxes delivered when the recipient is out of town or unaware they need to be opened and refrigerated.
Returns
We accept returns for ristras and wreaths, jarred products, and other sealed non-perishables. The customer is responsible for return shipping. Contact us to set up a return.
