Most "my code didn't work" questions come down to the same thing: we don't publish public discount codes.

Here's how each piece works and what to do if a code we sent you isn't applying.

No public codes — discounts apply automatically

Our two big savings programs — Buy More Save More and Mix Match Save — apply automatically at checkout with no code to enter. The codes we do issue go out only to email and SMS subscribers, or are sent directly by customer support for damage credits and special order situations.

How discounts work on our site

We don't publish public discount codes on the site. There are two ways to save without a code, and both apply automatically at checkout:

  • Buy More Save More (BMSM) — automatic discount on qualifying frozen items once you hit the threshold
  • Mix Match Save (MMS) — automatic discount on qualifying shelf-stable items once you hit the threshold

The discount codes we do issue go out only to our email newsletter and SMS subscribers, in specific circumstances (seasonal promotions, holiday sales, exclusive launches). If you'd like to be on those lists, sign up at the bottom of any page on the site. Customer support also issues one-off codes from time to time — damage credits on a re-shipped order, codes for trade-show or event customers, codes for special order situations. Those are case-by-case and come from our team directly.

If a code we sent you isn't applying

Paste the code into the Discount code field on the checkout screen — not the cart drawer; some codes only register on the checkout page. Copy it straight from the email or text so there are no extra spaces or capitalization mismatches. If it still won't apply, the code may be tied to a specific email, order, or product. Contact us with the code and your HATC- order number and we'll figure out what's blocking it. For time-sensitive cases (sale ending tonight, mid-checkout), call 575-267-2067 (9 am–5 pm Mountain, Mon–Fri).

Bulk discounts always apply automatically — no code needed

Our two automatic discount programs are always working in the background and apply on their own at checkout:

  • 2 or more frozen items triggers BMSM: 20% off at 2, 25% at 3, 30% at 4 or more.
  • 3 or more jars, powders, pods, or nuts triggers MMS: 10% off at 3, 15% at 6, 15% plus free US shipping at 12 or more.

These tiers don't need a code, don't expire, and apply to every customer on every order. They don't apply to fresh chile, ristras, wreaths, crosses, roasters, swag, or gift cards. The deals also don't stack across categories — a mix of items spread across the BMSM and MMS lists may not trigger either tier on its own. For the full breakdown, see our bulk discounts page.

Subscriber and customer-support codes

If you got a code from us, it came through one of these channels:

  • Email newsletter or SMS — seasonal promotions, holiday sales, exclusive product launches. Sign up for either or both at the bottom of any page on the site.
  • Customer support, directly — damage credits on a re-shipped order, trade-show or event codes, codes for special order situations. These are tied to a specific email, order, or product, and may only redeem under those conditions.

One promo code per order. BMSM and MMS aren't promo codes — they're automatic — so a one-time code plus a qualifying bulk discount will usually stack unless the code's fine print says "cannot be combined with other offers." Discounts also apply per single-address order; split a cart across multiple addresses and each address is its own order, calculated separately.

We don't offer standing military, senior, or first-responder codes

We get this often, and the honest answer is no — we don't have a separate standing discount for military, senior, first-responder, or nonprofit customers. Our automatic BMSM and MMS programs are the same for everyone.

Chile Points live on our rewards page

Chile Points — our rewards program — aren't a promo code in the usual sense. You earn points on every order and turn them into a discount code at checkout from our rewards page. If you're looking for your points balance or trying to redeem, that's the spot to go.

If you have a code from us — email, SMS, or directly from customer support — and it still won't apply after pasting it into the checkout-screen Discount code field, contact us with the code and your HATC- order number and we'll take a look. For time-sensitive cases, call 575-267-2067 (9 am–5 pm Mountain, Mon–Fri). If it's a real bug on our end, we can also place the order over the phone with the discount applied manually.

Can I use a discount if I ship to multiple addresses?

Discounts apply per single-address order. To send to two addresses, place two separate orders — each is calculated independently.

Can I combine two discount codes?

Only one promo code per order. Our automatic BMSM and MMS bulk discounts stack with most one-time codes unless the code says "cannot be combined with other offers."
