Astounding! I absolutely can't believe the night and day difference between this product and the lackluster flavor of what I have been buying in cans from my grocery. I wasn't prepared for the smoky intensity of these freshly roasted jarred chilies. Honestly, a spoonful tossed with some cheese and ranchero sauce in a tortilla could turn me vegetarian. And wait until you top a burger with it!
When the chili arrived I immediately opened the sack and snapped one chili and put the stem end piece in my mouth (a chili connoisseur) and chewed on it until it was rehydrated. I should have stopped sooner. Wow, it was very hot, just exactly what I ordered and needed to make hot tamales. We have a tradition, since 1975, and make tamales on Christmas Eve. We've done this while my wife an I were in the Air Force all over the world. Our friends both Americans and natives of the country loved them. We relied on our parents to send us the stuff needed to make them. Not readily available in other parts of the world. Now we have Hatch Chili company to supply us with all the New Mexico chili, red or green and we look forward to the season when it comes available. Just like New Mexicans, our friends up here in the Great White North, U P of Michigna, also enjoy when we roast green chili, cook burgers and drink cold beer. My order arrived on Tuesday and on Wednesday, i made Mexican Lasagna and Chicken Chorizo/Vegetable soup. I will take both dishes to my eye doctors office. One of the staff members is planning a trip to NM in May...including Hatch and White Sands. I used the pure green chili...medium.A nice bite and fair on the kick. Recipes from Southwest cookbooks.
I order a dozen jars of this salsa at least 5 times a year. It is the best salsa in a jar I have ever tasted and I was born and raised in New Mexico. I live in South Carolina now and make sure I always have some of this salsa on the shelf. Keep up the great work, Hatch Chile Company!
I very much like the hot sauce, it's a "fresh" way to add heat to other condiments. I've used the Hatch Hot with General Tso sauce to bring the heat, and I've used the Hatch 575 Hot to add heat to pizza sauce ! I got my jar last week, and it's half gone already. I Love your ad where your man is eating a double burger from the tailgate while pouring on the Chili..."We don't sell water"...Love that add, watched it 8 times..! I look forward to ordering more and trying the different varieties.
Everybody who enjoys green chile's knows, or should know, that Hatch green chile's are the best! I used to buy frozen, chopped green chile's, but now find that ordering the jars is the easiest way to get my chile fix. I use them with almost everything I cook. An egg omelet is pretty tasty, but adding green chile's make them way more better! Same with hamburgers...in fact, it's the same with almost all food. Green chile's make everything better...and Hatch green chili's are handdown the best available.
This is a great roaster. Well made and the perfect size for small batches. This amount of chiles would have taken a few hours on the grill and the roasting would not be very uniform. The medium roaster had them done in a matter of minutes. I would recommend this roaster to anyone looking to get away from the grill. Now we have wonderful roasted chiles in Kentucky! Great job folks!
I and my husband were raised in New Mexico and moved to Stone Mountain, GA (Atlanta) in 1985. We have always kept our southwestern green chile roots and discovered Hatch green chiles after we moved away. I ordered 25 pounds this year, they arrived on a Friday (I brought them into the house and separated them as much as possible due to the heat and obvious humidity here in Geogia). On Saturday, I fired up my grill and roasted them. They are/were amazing!! I spit them up, froze most and my husband and I had chile rellanos that night and left overs for the next day. Then, I unfroze a pack and made more rellanos for my brother (also from NM) and his wife and they were blown away at how awesome they were. Granted, I'm a good NM cook but you can't get that flavor except from the best. I'm so anxious to share these chiles with my son, that was born in Georgia but is a true New Mexican at heart. He was eating chips with salsa at the age of 2 and on our first trip to Albuquegue with him at 5, he order jalapeno poppers and ate them all without flitching.
I ordered the Freeze Dried Hatch Green Chile so that my daughter who lives in New Zealand can have a little taste of home! My Dad grew up in Aztec, NM, so I grew up eating Hatch Chiles and many other kinds. I love making salsas and continued my Dad’s tradition of salsa for my kids! Any kind of pepper is very expensive in New Zealand, so it is rare to be able to enjoy home made salsa like I made for her when she was growing up! These peppers will now make it easier for her to make some spicy food that she longs for! Thank you for making them this way! I took her four packages and will definitely be getting her more in the future!!

Absolutely more than expected. I air fried my rellanos from frozen and they were outstanding. Better than most restaurants. The heat was perfect and the cheese is smooth and tasty. They are big and worth the money. I will for sure order more. I’ve been a fan of Hatch Green Chile’s for many years. First time rellano buyer. Glad I did.
