I so miss living so close to you. We love your chili and have not found any here in Kentucky that compares to the flavor. I made my own green enchilada sauce to make chicken enchiladas and also made green chili stew for my son’s birthday. It was fantastic. Kentucky loves Hatch chili

Arrived on time, in good condition. Delicious chili!

The medium was a little bit on the mild side, although there is some variance from batch to batch. If you like your chili with kick might want to go up a notch.

I absolutely loved your hatch chili's. I lived in new Mexico, alot as a child and a little as an adult nothing compares to hatch chili's and living in Oregon I had to find a company that would ship them and I was very very happy with the quality, flavor and how ripe they were. I will definitely order again.

We lived in NM for many years, then moved with a job. We missed green chili, so having them shipped to our house has been great. There is great excitement at our house when they arrive. We have family chile roasting time, then we freeze them for all year enjoyment. The Chile has great flavor and is wonderful!!!!!!!!!

I was extremely pleased with my order of medium-hot (Big Jim) Hatch green chilies. A 25-pound order was a great value and the shipping rate was reasonable. The chilies arrived on time with no spoilage and were ready for immediate roasting. The medium hot (at least from 2015) gave off a really nice balance of heat and flavor. I've already placed my 2016 order, proving I am one happy customer.

We have now purchased both already roasted and frozen chiles and fresh chiles. Both experiences were great. The only comment I would make is could you offer a small package size as when I defrost a package the amount of chiles that comes in a package is just to much for the meals that I make. Otherwise absolutely amazing experience. Thanks.

We are in our late 60s, even so when our 25lb order arrives, we are children again, anxious to see our red, ruby gems. First thing:Stick our heads in and breathe deeply. Ahhhhh. Once again New Mexico has arrived. Now to make the ristra that hangs in the kitchen drying throughout the year. It is picked and poked throughout the year finally to arrive in glass jars as enchilada sauce that will last for most of 2016. Soon the arrival of our 2016 orderof 35lbs of Hatchies only to repeat the circle. Love you guys.

It's worth it for your yearly chile fix, but it's a little expensive in my mind. The smell when the box comes is heavenly, and then when you roast them! I love my chiles and this is the way to get them if you are going to get them! I have had little problems and Preston always takes care of them right away. Their ordering and shipping has improved over the years.

Big Jim Birthday Gift.

5/5 stars · Betsy · 2016-08-03 16:17:20 (source time; timezone unknown)

Reviews.io · Verified buyer according to Reviews.io

For the last several years, I have sent Big Jim Mediums to my son as a birthday gift. Typically he grills them, but he also prepares some for the freezer so they will be available in the coming months. He says there are no chilis to compare to Hatch chilis and while his gift is for mediums, he is thrilled if he finds a hot one in the batch.

He lives in the Seattle area, and we have laughed at the route the peppers take to reach him from Hatch. They travel east to the FedEx hub and then are sent on their way to the Seattle delivery point from which they are delivered to his home. I must add they are always fresh.
One year when he was coming to visit me in Atlanta, he packed a bunch of peppers in his suitcase. Those peppers traveled literally thousands of miles - Hatch toNashville, to Seattle, out for delivery, packed in a suitcase and brought east again to share with me.

Little story... the first year I ordered the peppers, I indicated they were a birthday gift.
One of the packers had scrawled on the crate with a marker, Happy Birthday.

Hatch chilis are the best, customer service is awesome, and I have discovered the perfect birthday gift.

Again, I was very pleased with my Hatch Green Chile order. Every chile came through fresh and usable. I roasted them on my barbecue, and froze them in packages of 6, and enjoyed every treasured one throughout the year. The "heat" was a perfect medium, the size of each was good, and I was thoroughly satisfied. I will continue to get my annual green chiles this way.

I love Hatch Chiles and the Hatch Chile Store is my go to place to get them when I can't go to Hatch myself. I've tried other shippers and I've even bought them at the local store and they just don't compare. Not only are the chiles I find in stores here of undetermined strain, but I'm not even sure they are truly Hatch chiles.

I just had some last night for dinner! Awesome chiles.

Living in California, it's difficult to get GOOD fresh New Mexico chile to roast. (My mother was a native of Albuquerque, and I had a deep green chile emptiness in my life for a very long time). For the past 5 years or so, I've ordered green chile from a variety of vendors who did an adequate job. Last year I came upon The Hatch Chile Store and received the best looking batch of chile's and some really excellent down to earth customer service with really good communication. There are quite a few ways to mail order New Mexico chile these days, but I can't imagine going elsewhere. It's really great to look forward to NOT spend all that time online researching where I can get my chile, and just GO to the folks that do it so well. I was able to order early and not worry about ordering too late when chile has run out. The most difficult part of the process for me now is the wait til harvest!

We love Big Jim peppers! After 2 magical trips to Santa Fe, our family could not live without posole made right. No other pepper but Big Jims would do. We order them every summer, roast them in one day, and use them until we run out, which is usually close to pre order time. They are the best.

I haven't heard from my daughter in Oklahoma or my son in Mesa as to whether or not they have received their orders. Last year I sent fresh green chilies to my daughter in Oklahoma and they were very please with them, the order even came with an added bonus of a mouse who had partially eaten one of the chilies! Would like to respond later when I have heard from both of them once they receive their order.

Very pleased with the service and product.
