The Hatch Chile Store makes me so happy! Having lived in NM for 12 years we missed that authentic taste of the best chiles we had ever eaten. Until we learned of this store, we did without. Can't say enough about the fabulous quality of the chiles and the great service they provide.

We love Hatch Green Chiles and have been ordering them for delivery to Key West. We use to live in Albuquerque and always had Hatch Green Chile. Living here in Key West...we just had to have them. And we are going on 7 Years of ordering them for delivery...we even ordered the roaster. They always arrive in perfect condition ready for roasting. The cool thing is watching our friends here in Key West start to order them as well as our friends in other states. They call me the Tamale Man here in Key West...and I only use Hatch Green Chiles. There is even a song called Tamale Man which I help write and compose the music. Bottomline...Hatch Green Chile is a part of our life in so many ways. Thank you Hatch! I posted some photos of me roasting in my driveway a few days ago.

Excellent! Although I admit to being a bit skeptical that my order would make it from NM to OH without spoilage, it arrived in great shape. The email notice of its estimated arrival allowed me to plan for roasting once the order arrived - and that I did! Of the 25# box, I think there were only 6 chilis that showed some sign of early decay but were still salvageable. Great company to work with, reliable, good communication even after the order arrived (to make sure it arrived satisfactorily) and of course, nothing beats a Hatch Green Chili!!

Before asking me to write a review, you might want to ensure that you have shipped me the product I paid for months ago! I sympathize with the challenges you are facing this chile season, but c'mon, that shouldn't excuse you from paying attention!

I am a long-time customer, and have enjoyed my annual receipt of fresh Hatch green chiles for many years. 2023 is proving to be a severe disappointment.

Received my 25 LBS of hot hatch chilies, virtually no spoilage. Next day I pulled out the chili roaster and roasted it all. Chilies peeled extremely easy, chopped them up and put in freezer bags. Made same chili stew, chilis are perfect, great taste and heat

Excellent as usual. Four were soft at the tips but a cycle through the roaster cleaned that up, with minimal loss even shipping to the Midwest during the hottest day of this year so far. I also had them held at a local indoor site and got all 25 pounds processed the day after receiving them, just kept them on the counter in the kitchen still boxed.

This is my third year in a row pre-ordering and I am really disappointed in the chiles I received. They arrived fresh but just aren't as good as I've had before. The flesh is thinner and they were hard to peel. Many were already starting to turn red despite being small in size. I've roasted all 25 pounds and the net weight yield is much less than in years past. Very few held shape in order to freeze whole. Shipping costs have increased and I spent almost as much on shipping to guarantee they arrive fresh in California as what the chiles themselves cost. For the time and money spent it just didn't seem worth it this year.

Love the chili and the customer service. The chili was very good tasting! Not a lot of heat in the medium, so I asked them to send me Hot to replace the bad chili I received previously.

I have not yet received the Hot chili yet, but look very forward to receiving it.

I received my chili and some was bad, they are shipping me chili to replace what was bad.

I and my husband were raised in New Mexico and moved to Stone Mountain, GA (Atlanta) in 1985. We have always kept our southwestern green chile roots and discovered Hatch green chiles after we moved away. I ordered 25 pounds this year, they arrived on a Friday (I brought them into the house and separated them as much as possible due to the heat and obvious humidity here in Geogia). On Saturday, I fired up my grill and roasted them. They are/were amazing!! I spit them up, froze most and my husband and I had chile rellanos that night and left overs for the next day. Then, I unfroze a pack and made more rellanos for my brother (also from NM) and his wife and they were blown away at how awesome they were. Granted, I'm a good NM cook but you can't get that flavor except from the best. I'm so anxious to share these chiles with my son, that was born in Georgia but is a true New Mexican at heart. He was eating chips with salsa at the age of 2 and on our first trip to Albuquegue with him at 5, he order jalapeno poppers and ate them all without flitching.

Hi, I thought I reviewed already but....here goes.
First of all, the shipping/delivery was great and this year there was very little spoilage! Thanks

I do realize that you don't control your weather and that 25 lbs should be 25lbs but this year's thin fleshed yield was way down after roasting and the work was way up due to small size. I've bought Hatch chiles for 40 years though only from you for 3 or 4 years, previously from several independents so I do have a lot to compare to..

I assume you consume a lot of the crop making the products you sell, some of which probably don't require skin removal. Considering the total cost we experience including express shipping, I'd like to think that it would be possible for you to only ship fruit that is optimal for roasting peeling.

Otherwise, next year it would be nice to get a crop review a week or so out so I can consider my options.
Thanks, Joe

I can't wait each year for the fresh arrival. We smoke them with mesquite as soon as we can, peel and freeze to use throughout the year.

We also keep a 3'-0" rista of the red to use with them. :)
